Helicopter Pilot Ratings

Expand your training!

In the content below, you will find our helicopter pilot ratings. They are designed to further improve your training experience and allow you to gain more overall knowledge about handling the helicopter safely in different types of environments, or even in different types of helicopters.

Night Rating

The night rating course will allow a licensed pilot to fly at night in VFR (visual flight rules) conditions. To hold a night rating, 10 hours of basic instrument flying and 10 hours of flight time (5 hours dual and 5 hours solo) are required. The basic instrument flying portion can all or partially be completed in the CPL-H or PPL-H course. If the pilot intends to carry passengers commercially at night, the pilot will also need a Group 4 Instrument rating.
